Members Update – Sat 21st March 2020

On this week in 1972 Redbridge Sports & Leisure opened our doors to the local community for the first time, and in the 48 years that have followed the Centre has seen ten phases of incredible growth, now serving close to 1 million visitors each year.
While we have grown tremendously, we remain a small business, and the future of RSL is being challenged by the unprecedented impact of Coronavirus. As an Independent Charitable Trust, receiving no financial support from the Local Authority; we are entirely reliant on income generated from all of our users to continue to provide outstanding sports and leisure facilities for the local and wider community.

Whilst no-one can be sure what the future holds, our intention is to continue to serve. We are grateful for the positive feedback staff have received from members for the efforts made to keep the Centre operational for as long as we were able to do so.

Rest assured, that during our enforced closure, we won’t collect any future Direct Debit payments, and any credit for adult or junior members will be held on account for when we are able to reopen.

You do not need to do anything – we will freeze your payments automatically, please don’t cancel your Direct Debit mandate as this will cause delays and administrative issues prior to resuming your membership.

Annual memberships will be extended by the duration of the enforced closure, again you need to do nothing; we will advise you of the necessary renewal processes once we reopen.

All Junior course credits will be honoured, registers will be frozen, no spaces will be lost for those in credit; when the programme is able to resume, we will contact parents accordingly.

Things continue to develop at a pace, we cannot predict the future, so we will continue to follow Government briefings, and update you when relevant – To stay up to date with the latest news, please download our RSL Mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
We wish all users good health, and thank you for your continued support of Redbridge Sports & Leisure.
