We’re Re-Opening! Members Update – Fri 10th July

We were delighted to finally receive the Government confirmation yesterday that indoor sports facilities and gyms can re-open from Saturday 25th July.

As we were already well advanced with our provisional plans to re-open earlier in the month, we will now take a short time to update these plans to conform with any changes to the Government guidance, and will provide a further update again early next week.

We thank those hardy members who have already made use of our outdoor courts this week, despite the weather, and hope to see more of you again as the weather improves into next week. Courts/Pitches are available for booking now for use Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm; online bookings can be made via the RSL Mobile App or by clicking HERE

Opening of the indoor facilities will be in stages, and we have been working throughout the closure with sports governing bodies to assist us in the phased return of our sports activities. As previously advised, our initial Covid-19 Secure measures include singles-only bookings for pay and play courts (no doubles other than within household) across Tennis, Badminton & Table Tennis (there are currently still no safe return guidelines for Squash/Racketball). Classes will operate at reduced capacity and we will be spreading the gym into additional areas to ensure social distancing and hygiene, as well as ensuring sufficient capacity across staggered booking slots throughout the day.

More information on how to book indoor sessions and on the membership options available during the early stages of re-opening will be provided in the update next week.

We thank you again for your patience and understanding, we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, and look forward to being able to welcome those of you who are ready to return back into the Centre soon.
