The Jean Brown Indoor Arena officially opens.

Built to accommodate increasing demand for badminton and netball, the £7.6 million indoor arena was part-funded by LOCOG and selected as an official Games Time Training Venue for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

The development provides one of the most significant sporting legacy benefits for East London and surrounding communities, expanding opportunities for both grassroots participation and performance sport.
