RSL Walking Netballers honour former player!

On Friday 21 August 2026 the RSL Walking Netball social ladies, honoured one its original players to the sessions, Julie Sutherland nee Rainbow.

Julie came to the session every week for almost 10 years, but after a courageous battle with cancer, Julie unfortunately passed away earlier this year.  

The ladies, came dressed in rainbow colours to honour Julie, as Rainbow was her maiden name.

There were various fun drills involving shooting, that Coach Chris created and the scores were tallied up at the end. The ladies contributed money in Julie’s memory and raised £412.50 for cancer research.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the first ‘Julie Sutherland Shooting Competition’ was Tosi Maximin. (pictured).

The ladies then celebrated and remembered Julie with tea and cake in the Edna Clarke café after the session.
